The CMSMS core team is made up of talented people dedicated to making the best open source CMS out there.

The team and a growing group of devotees meet semi regularly on IRC to discuss plans for the product, and and how to take forward steps.

We have yearly Geek Moots, where we meet in person in a chosen location around the world, to decide how this product should move forward, and to geek out with marathon development sessions. Of course, there's the requisite amount of celebration and partying at these meetings.

Robert graduated from College in 1992 and started his programming career in the oil and gas industry. Beginning his career as the sole developer on an existing, popular DOS based 2D seismograph interpretation system, his skills developed from involving customer support, software development through multiple positions up to and including being a software project manager for an international oil and gas software corporation. Robert has gained over 18 years of experience in software development, network administration in heterogeneous environments and project management. In the early nineties Robert became a father. Soon tired of all of the complaints from aunt's, uncles, parents and grandparents of "Send me pictures!", and too cheap to go to walmart get copies made and mail them out to the horde, Robert decided "the family can get the pictures off of the web, all I have to do is build a website." A couple of years later after working hard at doing all the pages (rather badly) in pure HTML Robert stumbled upon CMS made simple. Within 15 minutes the software package was up and operational, and he was busy looking into add this and that cool feature to his site. He soon dug in and began using his 13+ years as a unix/windows C++ geek in the seismic industry to his advantage in a new (to him) programming language, PHP. He's been writing modules for, and contributing in large ways to CMSMS ever since. When he's not glued in front of the PC working on one program or module or another, he's spending time with the family and kids (all five of them), and trying to find time for all them fun but costly outdoor sports like 4x4ing, fishing, archery, hunting (and the list goes on). Test

Skills and Abilities:
Robert specializes in programming and unix administration. No network or program is too big or too small for him. He has extensive experience working in unix (Linux and "Solaris), and in programming in a variety of languages (C, C++, PHP, Perl, Javascript, Shell Scripting).... etc. To Robert, Programming is just programming, it doesn't matter the language, syntax doesn't take long to learn.

* Unix Administration

Morten Poulsen

Morten Poulsen Location: Elsinore, Denmark (GMT+1)
Birthday/Age: May, 1973
Position: Developer (mainly modules-oriented)
Forum or IRC Nickname: Silmarillion

Half a musician and half self-taught programmer Morten really never decided which career to focus on, leading to a life of a little of each.Living mainly off more or less freelance work as a pianist and music teacher, he likes to spend whatever time is left on different kind of computer projects, some of which is managed through a small consulting company of his own. Having tried to manage some established CMS's he once decided to write his own Nuke-style CMS with a flexible plugin architecture, but it never made it that far off the ground (some sites do exist still running the system known as LiteNuke, though). Discovering CMSMadeSimple, which presented some of the same philosophies as he had tried, somewhat unsuccessfully, to implement in LiteNuke, he decided to get to know, and try to help in the development of, CMSMS instead. He is both contributing to the core system and developing several addon modules.

In 2007 I was looking for a new hobby and tried to make my first html-website. Our local school needed a website, I volunteered to make theirs. But the school wanted a website they could maintain themselves, so I started looking for a free CMS on the internet, where I found CMS Made Simple. The way CMSMS is built with a lean core package and if necessary plenty modules to add on, was just what I was looking for. When I started to build my first CMSMS site, I found the forum and the wikis very useful. I was able to create this website with the information I found there.

Skills and Abilities:
I have got a technical background, no background in the IT. I learned a lot with self-study and by just doing it.

Position: CSS/XHTML expert
Forum or IRC Nickname: Dr.CSS (forum) / DrCss (IRC)
Website: http://www.multiintech.com

Mark Reed is known within the community as DrCss. Not surprising if you know we have not yet been able to throw a design at him of which he said: "Nope, I don't know how to do that". His children actually warn people not to mention words such as "computer" or "web site" in his presence unless they enjoy enthusiastic talks about the subjects for hours. Not only did he code the new layout of our main site, he's also one of the top 3 contributors in the forum and a specialist in the field of building and porting templates for CMS Made Simple. Since early childhood Mark always wanted to know how things function under the hood. He dragged all kinds of mechanical stuff home and took it apart to see how it works. Guess what happened when he got his hands on a computer in the late 90's… And more so, when he discovered HTML. Notepad became his best friend. He got tired of having to change the menu structure by hand on all those pages and he found that you could do it with a software system on the server, a Content Management System. He started checking out a lot of CMSs', none were setup in the way he was used to with flat files, until he found CMS Made Simple in March of 2006 and would never use another. In his words: "They just don't stack up…" From student to expert and highly appreciated teacher, that's Mark!

She runs an agency in The Netherlands (Amsterdam area) focused on multi-media & marketing services. In her spare time she composes movie music, plays the piano and makes colourful paintings. She can’t avoid the genes she got as the daughter of an Oscar winning animator / jazz musician and a sculptor/painter, both originating from generations of artists and musicians. Nobody can tell where the stray commercial genes came from though. After an extensive search in 2008 for a CMS that is friendly to end users and heaven for experienced designers and developers she fell in love with CMS Made Simple. I'm a freelance webdesigner from Belgium and have been involved with CMSMS since 2007. Since I discovered CMSMS, I started using it almost exclusively for my websites. The next step that came natural was to develop a taste for Smarty. Over the years, I have found the CMSMS community to be very helpful and returned the favor whenever I could by posting to the forum and publishing the occasional cmsms/smarty trick on the i-do-this.com blog. A while after my first GeekMoot (2011 - Northampton), I was asked to join the Quality Assurance dev team and happily accepted the invitation! I'm looking forward to digging deeper into CMSMS and spending more time with the team that has made it all possible! On a personal note: I'm a big (old school) RTS enthusiast. My 2 all time favorite games are: Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour (with the Zero Hour Reborn mod) Stronghold Legends

Fernando is a freelancer specialized in audiovisuals and multimedia. He taught in courses, such as Film Theory and Language, Film and Video Editing, both in a private school Open Space Studio and No Noise, and became a consultant in Visão X (a producing company), and accumulating functions as Project Director, Video Editor, Motion Graphics Designer, amongst others. Being a believer of “if you want something done right, do it yourself” he became a programmer, starting by doing a few small applications in Delphi Pascal, most of them for his own use, others being commissioned by a few clients, for very specific purposes. Programming for him was like an extension of his other creative activities. When challenged to do some work in websites for friends (back in 2007), he searched for a CMS that could fit his needs, tried almost every Open Source CMS that he could put his hands on, and ended up settling down with the one he still thinks is undoubtedly the most versatile of them all: CMS Made Simple™.
